Barbara Sibley M.D.

Dr. Sibley was born and raised in Ames, Iowa. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and then studied pre-med at the University of Arizona. She received her medical degree from Stanford University. She then moved to Seattle and completed her internship and pediatric residency at the University of Washington.

Dr Sibley speaks Spanish and has traveled and lived in Mexico and Central America. She loves to spend time with family and friends, hiking, cooking, reading and exploring our beautiful world. She enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and needs.

Dr. Sibley is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Mary Hough M.D.

Dr. Mary Hough received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. She also holds her masters in public health from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Hough completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Prior to beginning her practice at Southern Oregon Pediatrics, Dr. Hough, along with her husband, practiced pediatric medicine at the Gallop Indian Medical Center in New Mexico. In addition to her professional interests, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband and two children.

Dr. Mary Hough is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Matt Hough M.D.

Dr. Matthew Hough received his undergraduate degree from Brown University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr. Hough completed his pediatric residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Prior to beginning his new practice at Southern Oregon Pediatrics, Dr. Hough and his wife practiced pediatrics at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in New Mexico. In addition to his medical interests, Matt enjoys running and spending time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Matt Hough is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Greg Conway M.D.

Dr. Conway studied exercise physiology and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University in Chico, where he was the top 1% of students in his department.

In Omaha Nebraska, he received his medical degree at Creighton School of Medicine and completed his residency in Creighton-Nebraska Universities Health Foundation where he was chief resident in his final year of training.

Dr. Conway enjoys basketball, competitive badminton, harmonica music, movies, drawing, juggling, and most of all his wife and kids.

Dr. Conway is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Valerie Ljungkvist M.D.

Dr. Ljungkvist grew up in Eureka, California. After high school, she spent a year in Sweden as an exchange student. She returned home to attend U.C. Berkeley where she received her B.A. in Biology.

She worked as a biologist for the U.S. Forest Service for two years before attending the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. She later completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Vermont Children's Hospital.

Dr Ljungkvist knows the lyrics to an embarrassing number of 70's and 80's songs, loves travel, cooking, gardening, and most of all she likes spending time with her husband and kids.

Dr. Ljungkvist is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Mike Mills M.D.
Dr. Michael Mills received his undergraduate degree from University of California, San Diego.  After that, he briefly worked as a peptide synthesizer.  After a few months of that, he realized that peptide synthesizing was not his calling and he enrolled in medical school.

Dr. Mills received his medical degree from the University of Michigan.  He then did a residency in combined pediatrics and internal medicine at the University of California, San Diego.  Dr. Mills practiced in Sweet Home, Oregon, for almost 6 years before joining Southern Oregon Pediatrics.

In Dr. Mills' free time, he enjoys the simpler things  in life, such as cooking, gardening, and playing with his kids.  He does not juggle or play the harmonica, but he does know the lyrics to many 80's music.

Dr. Mills is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Mary Murdoch M.D.

Dr. Mary Murdoch received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Murdoch received both her medical degree and pediatric residency training from The University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. She practiced at Pediatric Associates in Bellevue, Washington before returning to her home town of Medford. She is very happy to have joined her father’s practice, Southern Oregon Pediatrics.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys. She is proud to be able to make decent car, truck, and train sounds. She also enjoys dancing, hiking, movies, and travel.

Ahan Newman M.D.

Dr. Newman received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Harvard University where he conducted research on superoxide and regulation of the genetic cascade after oxidative damage in the cell. He obtained his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine. As a medical student, he also conducted research on retroviral vectors for gene transfer. Dr. Newman completed his pediatric residency at Harvard Medical School at the Children’s Hospital of Boston..

Prior to beginning his new practice at Southern Oregon Pediatrics, Dr. Newman practiced pediatrics in the San Francisco Bay Area for seven years. He worked an inpatient physician caring for hospitalized and critically ill children and later transitioned to caring for children in a primary outpatient setting.
Dr. Newman's interests in pediatrics involve nutrition and its role in inflammatory disorders, immune function, behavior and healing. He is committed to helping families find effective ways to promote a condition of optimum health. Dr. Newman speaks Spanish and French.

Dr. Newman is married and enjoys traveling, reading, learning new things, and spending time with his wife and family.

Dr. Newman is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Diana Scholtz CPNP-PC

Diana grew up in rural Northwestern Pennsylvania, received her BS in Nursing from Gannon University in Erie, PA and completed a Masters in Nursing-Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Prior to joining Southern Oregon Pediatrics, she was commissioned in the US Navy Nurse Corps, and was stationed throughout the United States and Caribbean. She retired from the US Naval Reserves in 2007. She was most recently employed by Naval Medical Center Portsmouth; Portsmouth, VA as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Diana enjoys the outdoors- geocaching, hiking, camping, rafting, canoeing, biking. She likes a variety of music, plays Alto/Tenor Saxophone and the Banjo. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children.

Diana is board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
