Dr. Ljungkvist grew up in Eureka, California. After high school, she spent a year in Sweden as an exchange student. She returned home to attend U.C. Berkeley where she received her B.A. in Biology.

Dr. Ljungkvish worked as a biologist for the U.S. Forest Service for two years before attending the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. She later completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Vermont Children's Hospital.

Dr Ljungkvist knows the lyrics to an embarrassing number of 70's and 80's songs, loves travel, cooking, gardening, and most of all she likes spending time with her husband and kids.

Dr. Ljungkvist is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
